?Rev.?(OK, so he was actually ordained in 1964 by the DoC Church) Jim Jones..Jonestown, British Guyana

"On November 18, 1978 912 followers of American cult leader Jim Jones ("Peoples Temple") died in a remote South American jungle compound called "Jonestown" in British Guyana. Some members were shot, others were forced to drink poison, but most willingly participated in what Jones said was an act of "revolutionary suicide."

"Shot"..."forced to drink poison"...."suicide"?????

Initial reports; then, the truth came out...depending who you believe...there were even a few survivors if I recall. But I think it's accepted there was defn force used for some. And not enough cool aide for all...

Missed the earlier thread re "mother's milk"; as soon as I heard the term, made me think of the chili peppers' album "mother's milk" -that was the time period where I still saw them bunch (right after hillel's death and when john f. came into the band). I drank that kool-aid, not the type Rev. Jones had...

And somewhere down below David Koresh leads the band...

Subway to Venus ROCKS!!!!

space is king or so i sing, subway to venus
space is king or so i sing, subway to venus

once aboard and feeling smooth
like a liquid you will ooze
into a state of mind that soothes
aw be my quest inside my groove
cause what i've got to give to you
is gonna make you wanna bunga-lee-loo
make you wiggle like a wiggly worm
cause you deserve to wiggle and squirm
life's too short to be in a hole
so bust into your funkiest stroll
life's too short to be in a hole
so bust into your funkiest stroll
